The English county of Suffolk is located on the east coast of England, and shares a border with its friendly neighbour Norfolk, as well as Cambridgeshire and Essex. The largest city in the area is Ipswich, and other notable towns include Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds.
Suffolk is a popular holiday destination due to its stunning coastline, and areas of outstanding natural beauty. One of those areas is the Broads Waterways which Suffolk shares with Norfolk. (Although it is more commonly known as the Norfolk Broads, some of the many rivers do actually extend into the County of Suffolk.) Boating through this area has been a popular holiday activity for over one hundred years.
On the coast, towns such as Lowestoft are popular holiday and day trip destinations. If you were to ever think of a picture postcard, or the "stick of rock" typical British seaside town, then Lowestoft would be it! During the summer months, people flock here to enjoy the warmer weather and friendly atmosphere.
Another main attraction in the county of Suffolk is Pleasurewood Hills. This theme park was one of the first to be developed in the UK, and has enough thrill rides, shows, shops and restaurants to keep the whole family entertained for the day.
There are countless places to stay throughout Suffolk, from holiday rental cottages through to caravans on the coast. Accommodation does tend to fill up faster during the summer months, and booking early for a stay during this time is advisable in order to ensure that you secure your Suffolk accommodation for the perfect UK relaxing holiday.
