Gorleston on Sea is located close to Great Yarmouth and has a seafront area definitely worth visiting. Along the front you will find Gorleston Pier with the nearby Pier Hotel and a quaint Cafe at the front of the Pier overlooking the sandy beach. The Pavillion Theatre is located by the Pier and plays host to many comedians and shows throughout the year. Along the main Promenade you can enjoy the stunning views of the hotels and Cafes located upon the cliff top at Gorleston on Sea.
Away from the beach along the cliff top, there are other activities that you might like to try in Gorleston, such as tennis, lawn bowls and golf. The long promenade is also popular with early morning joggers and people just after a pleasant stroll alike. If the weather turns on you, then fear not, as there is always a Cafe, restaurant or amusement arcade to visit along the seafront. If it looks like it might be raining for the day, a trip into Great Yarmouth or Caister might be an idea, where there are many more indoor attractions such as the Yesterdays World museum, SeaLife Centre, Amazonia and much more besides.
If you are looking for something to eat during your time in Gorleston, then there are many places that you can choose from. You can have a traditional full English breakfast in the morning from one of the many cafes, and follow it up with fish and chips in the afternoon. At night, you could visit the Pier Hotel restaurant, Tides Steakhouse and Grill or Ocean Room Restaurant among others. If you are self catering during your stay, then there are shops and a supermarket in the main town centre of Gorleston to stock up in.
Nightlife in Gorleston is not as varied as Great Yarmouth but there are Pubs on the front and the Ocean Room holds nighclub events at most weekends. For a wider selection of nightlife, you can always take a short taxi ride into Great Yarmouth where there are more bars and clubs to choose from. The Pubs and Bars are busiest during the peak tourist times of year, although you will find that most are open all the year around.
Whilst it goes without saying that Gorleston is a family friendly holiday destination, the accommodation options are more limited to guest-houses and hotels (with the closest Holiday Parks being in Great Yarmouth). So, if you are looking for a holiday park with all the entertainment and other facilities that accompany them such as swimming pool and inclusive entertainment in a clubhouse, somewhere like the Vauxhall holiday park in Great Yarmouth, or the Haven holiday Park in Caister might be more suitable. Accommodation choices in Gorleston tend to be from small or family run businesses or the larger main Hotels located near the seafront. This means that you can receive a more personal feel during your stay, like you tend to experience with a good Bed and Breakfast or quality Hotel.
