Blakeney has many sights to offer the traveller to this stunning Norfolk coastal village. From Blakeney harbour and Quay area to the historic Norfolk Churches in the area. Originally Blakeney was a busy harbour until silt deposits reduced the usable depth of the harbour preventing access to larger boats. Now the harbour can only be accessed and used by pleasure boats and smaller craft including the tourists boat trips that leave Blakeney port and travel to Blakeney Point for Seal spotting. Many of the buildings in Blakeney village are of historical interest including some of Blakeneys Hotels and B & B establishments. Visitors can also rent traditional flint built holiday cottages within Blakeney village, surrounded by quaint tea rooms, gift shops, restaurants and pubs. The 14th century old Guildhall building located down an alleyway off of Blakeney Quay is well worth a visit for any tourist to the area, the Guildhall was thought to be a storage building for a fish merchant originally.
